Everpure Water Filters: Are They Efficient?
In today's crowded market for home water filtration systems, picking out the right water purifier can be a bit of a chore. Ranging from $30-$800, there are many filtration systems out there with features you might want and some with features you couldn't care less for. Everpure's water filters fall into the range of $300-$800. Now, let's take a second here to discuss the worth of these filtration systems and if they're worth it or not.
It's no secret that the water supplied directly to our homes is contaminated with all sorts of bacteria and viruses, not to mention arsenic, cysts, chlorine, pesticides, lead, copper, drugs etc. Water with those types of impurities can cause a number of health ailments if consumed without any filtration. In fact, because of this, we have come to depend on home water filtration systems. Everpure water filters may sit on the expensive side of the market, however they are most certainly effective when it comes to getting rid of the water contaminants mentioned above.
Nonetheless, the one thing that Everpure water filters fail to get rid of are dangerous chlorine by-products. Chlorine has a tendency of creating certain byproducts such as TTHM's (Total Trihalomethanes) and chloroform when it comes in contact with certain organic pollutants found in water. Now ask yourself this, if your water filtration system did not remove such carcinogens from your water, would you still drink it?
The Everpure water filters in question are basic model's which are priced from $300-$400. Do you think such a system is worth that price if multi stage water filtration systems are readily available with similar price tags? Don't forget that these multi stage water filtration systems can handle TTHMs and VOCs, at the effective rate of 99%.
Everpure's more advanced models have claimed to be able to do the same, however it is still debatable. Reason being is that these systems are basically just a combination of their basic filter and a reverse osmosis filter. What's even worse is that the reverse osmosis water filter makes Everpure's advanced filter even less effective than their basic model. To put the icing on the cake, their advanced filter can run you $800.
The truth about reverse osmosis and its effects on your water is not a secret. Most times these filters remove essential minerals from your water such as zing, sodium, magnesium, calcium, etc. basically de-mineralizing your water. Consuming this type of water isn't only unhealthy but it has a very flat taste. Not to mention the risk of multiple mineral deficiencies!
In conclusion, there are tons of water filtration systems such as the Everpure water filters, however they're not the best for the price tag. So why not conduct some research on multi stage water purifiers? They have been proven to be very efficient and effective while retaining similar price tags than other filters that do less. The decision is your to make. So think twice before you buy that brand name filter!
